Troubleshooting Common Issues

Authentication Failed / Cannot Verify Account

This is the most common issue during setup. Here is how to fix it:

 • Double-check your password. The password is for your IsabiMail Suite email account, not your IsabiMail Suite dashboard login (they may differ if you changed one separately).
 • Use your full email address as the username. Enter you@yourdomain.com, not just you.
 • Make sure the account exists. Log in to your IsabiMail Suite dashboard and confirm the email account is created and active under your domain.

Cannot Send Email (SMTP Error)

If you can receive email but cannot send, check these settings:

 • Outgoing server must be mailserver.isabi.email on port 587 with STARTTLS enabled.
 • Authentication must be turned on for the outgoing server. Apple Mail sometimes defaults to "no authentication" for SMTP — change it to Password.
 • Make sure the SMTP username and password are filled in (same as your incoming credentials).

SSL Certificate Errors

If you see a warning about the server certificate:

 • Make sure you are using mailserver.isabi.email as the server — not your own domain name. The SSL certificate is issued for mailserver.isabi.email, so using any other hostname will trigger a mismatch warning.
 • If prompted, tap Continue or Trust to accept the certificate. This is safe when connecting to mailserver.isabi.email.

Email Not Syncing or Slow to Update

 • On iPhone/iPad, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data and set your IsabiMail Suite account to Push or Fetch every 15 minutes for faster updates.
 • On Mac, go to Mail > Settings > Accounts, select your IsabiMail Suite account, and set Check for new messages to Automatically.
 • Make sure you have a stable internet connection. IMAP requires an active connection to sync.

Calendar or Contacts Not Syncing

 • Verify that your CalDAV/CardDAV server is set to mailserver.isabi.email (not https://mailserver.isabi.email — the device adds the protocol automatically).
 • On iPhone, go to Settings > Calendar > Default Calendar and make sure it is set to your IsabiMail Suite calendar if you want new events to save there.
 • On Mac, open Calendar > Settings > Accounts and click Refresh Calendars to force a sync.

Summary of All Server Settings

Service Server Port Security

SMTP (Outgoing)mailserver.isabi.email587STARTTLS
CalDAV (Calendar)mailserver.isabi.email443SSL/TLS
